We are not a single subcontractor — we are a one-stop partner taking your project from structural frame to finished piece.

Yes. MEL ONE holds a South Australian Building Work Contractor Licence issued by Consumer and Business Services (CBS). Our structural carpentry is carried out within licence scope and to the SA Building Rules.

Absolutely. We support house-and-land builders (carpentry subcontracting), renovation builders (kitchen/bath cabinetry supply and install) and commercial builders (fitout, formwork). We know AS 1684 framing and mainstream Australian build systems and slot into builder teams seamlessly.

Price depends on material, size and detail. Adelaide 2026 reference (cabinets only, no benchtops): standard 2-pac MDF $8,000–$18,000; mid composite $15,000–$30,000; solid/high-end (Blackwood, American Oak) $30,000–$60,000+. We give a written quote after measure, with a free preliminary assessment and 3D design.

Driven by material and scope. Adelaide reference: Treated Pine $180–$280/m²; Merbau $280–$400/m²; Spotted Gum $320–$450/m²; base works and waterproofing add $2,000–$5,000. Confirmed after site check.

Yes — a free preliminary assessment and quote guidance. Simple jobs (one furniture piece, small repair) get a phone/photo estimate; complex jobs (kitchen reno, structural carpentry, commercial fitout) get an on-site measure and a detailed written quote valid 30 days.

Depends on extent and whether structure is involved: local jamb/floor replace $1,500–$5,000; partial frame repair (1–2 nodes) $5,000–$15,000; wide frame replace + barrier $15,000–$50,000+; engineer's report adds $1,500–$3,000. Act early — we coordinate a licensed pest controller to limit spread.

Yes. Our joiners know Adelaide period forms (Federation Bungalow, Inter-War Californian Bungalow, Georgian/Victorian) and their timber character and repair craft. For heritage-listed buildings we prepare a compliant method under the SA Heritage Act and obtain Heritage Approval before work.

Full kitchen reno (measure to install): standard cabinetry build 6–8 weeks; strip-out & base 1–2 weeks; install 1–2 weeks; finish & tune 3–5 days — about 10–14 weeks. Solid-timber cabinets may take 14–18 weeks for material lead. We give a dated program with clear milestones.

Yes. We deliver timber fitouts for Adelaide venues (restaurants, cafés, bars — partitions, feature ceilings, bars, displays), offices (partition walls, meeting feature walls, reception) and retail (brand walls, custom furniture), plus hotels and clinics. On large jobs we work with the head contractor as carpentry subcontractor.

Yes. With client consent we publish case studies (photos + description) on our projects page. For a specific type (kitchen, heritage, commercial fitout) we can arrange a visit where possible — Adelaide-local clients first.

Design sign-off 1–2 weeks; timber sourcing/drying (if specific size/species) 2–4 weeks; machining & assembly 2–3 weeks; finish (sand, oil/paint) 1 week — about 6–10 weeks. Local Blackwood/Jarrah can run longer on supply; imported Oak is usually quicker. Confirmed at quote.

Structural carpentry: 6-year structural warranty per SA building law. Fine joinery/cabinetry: 2-year workmanship & material warranty. Floor & deck oiling: 1-year workmanship. Restoration: 1-year workmanship. All cover workmanship defects; material faults follow each supplier's warranty. Full terms are in the contract.

We run SWMS (Safe Work Method Statement): site risk assessment before start; barrier and signage; daily site clean; waste sorted and removed at completion; all workers hold White Card + insurance. On commercial fitouts we coordinate hours (after-hours/weekends) with the head contractor to minimise trading disruption.
